

JACK RUSSELL HOLLIS November 3, 1944 – June 20, 2015 Jack R. Hollis, 70, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Marshall Manor Nursing Home in Guntersville, AL. Mr. Hollis was a native of Fountain Hill, Arkansas, where he lived and worked for many years before relocating to Huntsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Hazel Stanley Hollis; 4 brothers, J. D. Hollis, Ralph Hollis, Harold James Hollis, W. L. “Dub” Hollis; and one son, David Glenn Hollis. Mr. Hollis is survived by his son, Tyler Cross of Huntsville; 3 daughters, Angela Hollis Herrera of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Kristin Hollis Winn and her husband Chad of Wynne, Arkansas, and Casey Hollis Yazdani and her husband Danish of Chester, New York; 1 brother, Paul Dillard Hollis of Berryman, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jack, as everyone knew him, was an avid hunter and a great rifle marksman. He was a retired masonry contractor and an excellent brick and stone mason. There are still many homes in Arkansas that display his talent in beautiful brick and stone fireplace design. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed drawing and sketching. He took part in the Rodeo circuit in his younger years and was a very good horseman due to his love of horses. Jack Hollis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
