Mr. James Oliver Hinds

JAMES OLIVER HINDS June 21, 1931 – September 17, 2015 James O. Hinds, 84, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015, from a tragic accident. Mr. Hinds was a long time resident of the Fayetteville area. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lelar Pennycuff Hinds; his first wife of 48 years, Hazel R. Hinds; and his son, James O. Hinds, Jr. (Jimmy). Elaine Hinds, Mr. Hinds current wife, also passed away on September 19, 2015 from complications resulting from the accident. Left to treasure his memory is his daughter, Roseanna Forsyth (William) of Placentia, CA; 2 sons, David Hinds (Anthony Perrotta) of Cartersville, GA, and Robert Hinds (Linda) of Kelso, TN; two brothers, Cly Hinds and Lloyd Hinds; step-daughter, Lessia Roberts (Tommy) of Muscle Shoals, AL; step-sons, Edward Green and Alex Green (Sabrina) both of Fayetteville; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends. Mr. Hinds was a proud Retired US Army Veteran of 23 years. He then worked at Chrysler after retiring from the military for 10 years, and continued his farming activities while still being very involved in his community. He was a member of and supported New Life Heart to Heart Church of Fayetteville, TN. James Hinds was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him! You may visit with the family on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Derrick Jones, will be held in Valhalla’s Chapel commencing at 1:00pm. The entombment, including military honors and Scottish Rite honors, will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
