Janet Taylor Keller

Janet Taylor Keller, 68 of Huntsville, AL passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Keller was born on July 22, 1950 in Benton, TN. She is preceded in death by one brother, Doyle W. Prince.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 46 years, John Keller of Huntsville; mother, Lois Prince of Benton, TN; father, Vernie LC Taylor; son, Nathan Keller (Wendy Sweatt) and their children, Nora, Andrew, Silas, Samuel of Huntsville; daughter, Megan Keller Brown (Jeremiah) and their children, Ambrose, Felix, Vera, Clement of Huntsville; brother, Benjamin “Benny” Taylor (Dr. Penny Taylor) of Decatur, AL; sister, Sharon Prince Botts (Julian) of Cleveland, TN; sister, Jenell “Ginger” Prince Williams (Jack) of Riceville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Keller graduated as Valedictorian of her class at Polk County High School. She worked as a secretary in the Admitting Office of Bradley Memorial Hospital in Cleveland, TN, and as Assistant to the head of the Mathematics Department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Janet also served for many years as Church Secretary at Winchester Road Baptist Church, of which she was a member. She received numerous typing and secretarial awards over the years. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and reading as a past time. She also volunteered in the First Aid Room at Riverton Elementary School and was involved in her children’s Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops along with the Buckhorn High School Band. Janet also was a volunteer for the Red Cross in Huntsville.

Graveside Services, officiated by Rev. Michael Calvert will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 3:00pm at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Garden of Serenity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Children’s Advocacy Center in Huntsville, AL. Please leave fond memories and condolences for the Keller family at

Janet was a friend that car pooled with me; when our daughters were in school together. We worked in the school clinic often. She and I were very active with our families. Janet was a gentle and very intelligent friend. I could always depend on her.
Janet will be in heaven and at rest. She loved her family.
