It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry A. Morgan announces his passing on July 11, 2018, at the age of 73 years.
Jerry was a native of Huntsville, Al. He proudly served in the United States military. He retired from the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. After the service, he later attended Athens State University and graduated with a degree in Business. He was employed at Raytheon Missile Systems where he also retired.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 18 years, Sue, sons Patrick (Lisa) and Robert (Sarah), daughter Carola Riel (Michel), stepson David Louallen and 8 wonderful grandchildren Macie, Evan, Ethan, Avery, Ryan, Jacob, Eric and Rafael whom he loved dearly. He will be missed by his brother Danny (Diane) McMichen, sisters Donna (Raymond) Brown and Delinda (Phillip) Semrick, and 6 nieces and nephews Jeremiah (Lindsey), Luke (Cricket), Andrew (April), Ashley (Jared), Nick (Shari), and Caleb. He was very close to a special aunt, Alma Cash. He was preceded in death by his father James Morgan, mother Ruth McMichen, sister Patsy McMichen, uncle Bill Cash, and stepson Bradley Louallen.
Jerry will be remembered as a self-made, hard-working man who loved his family dearly. He will be celebrated for telling vividly amazing stories to his grandchildren of his early life. He was a passionate Alabama Crimson Tide and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. He loved sports his entire life. He and his wife, Sue, traveled the country with their prized show dogs whom they adored.
A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 1 pm, on Saturday, July 21st, at the Valhalla Funeral Home on Winchester Drive.
