Joe Hollis Smartt 74 of Huntsville passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Joe was born in Fort Campbell, KY. Joe went to be with the love of his life and wife of over 40 years in the early morning hours of July 30, 2024.
He was an avid bender of safeguards and rules of nature. There was no ladder, tree, chainsaw, or project requiring safety that he would throw safety out of the window to always "do it better." He loved to cook, loved his animals (of all kind), his motorcycles, and just driving the open road. He is preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Joe; his wife, Terri; his uncle, Robert; and his daughter and granddaughter. He leaves behind his son, Douglass as well as his daughter-in-law, grandson, sister, brother-in-law, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Joe will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at River Hills Church, 1635 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL, followed by a the celebration of life service at 2:00 PM.
