John E Darkow

John E. Darkow 69, of Hoover, Alabama passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at his home. John was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 22, 1955 to Albert Orfield Darkow and Virginia Lorraine Bennett who preceded him in death. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduation, John studied at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. John loved to play the Bass Guitar, fishing and golf.

He met and married Jann Patricia Roberts on October 31, 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. John & Jann decided they wanted a slower, country life so they packed all their belongings and moved to Alabama. They were happily married until her death in 2014. John and Jann raised two wonderful children who preceded him in death, William John “Trent” Darkow and Jaime Lyn Darkow. John's love for his dachshund babies were unmeasurable, Bunn, Chili, Unyon, Relish and Aubie greeted him on Friday.

John is survived by his much loved granddaughters; Jaime Lorraine Darkow and her fiancé Tre' Perdue of Roanoke, Virginia and Jordan Alyssa Darkow of Hazel Green, Alabama, his beloved cousin; Pam Forte’ of Minnesota, and her children.

His family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to his dear friends, neighbor Alden Snow, and friend Debbie Elsey. Both of them took very good care of John and we are very grateful.
