John Wesley Mefford

John Wesley Mefford, 91, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lenora Jean (Jeanie) Nayman; wife of 65 years, Dorothy Jean Mefford; sister, Martha Goins.

Mr. Mefford is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Lynn Cash, Martha Yvonne Batson and Patricia A. Miller (Byron); three grandsons, John Martin Cash (Bridget), Joshua Vaughn Batson (Melissa), Matthew Ryan Batson (Kelly); one granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Pack (Chris); 12 great grandchildren, Haley and Hayden Cash, Ryleigh, Coleson and Gracie Pack, Sydney and Ellie Batson, Lillyan, Kayle, Gavin, Faeryn and Peyton Batson; and very close family friends, Lula Call, Ben Call and family.

John was born and raised in Madison, Indiana. After marrying his wife, moved to Hazel Green, Alabama where they raised their four daughters. After retirement, they spent two years in Florida and moved back to Rogersville, Alabama.

You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services, officiated by Pastor Eric Lones will begin at 11:00am. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens at Building E Mausoleum.
