

JOHN LEO ZUROWSKI November 16, 1926 – March 1, 2015 John Zurowski, 88, of Huntsville passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 1, 2015. John was born in Naylor, MO to the late Stanley and Jaduage Zurowski. Mr. Zurowski was a resident of Huntsville for 45 years. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Lou Zurowski; 2 sons, John E. (Maureen) Zurowski and Gene (Carol) Zurowski; 2 daughters, Belinda (Jeff) Lawson of Rockton, IL, and Rhonda (Chris) West; brother, Edward (Lil) Zurowski of Rockford, IL; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives. Mr. Zurowski was a proud US Army veteran who served in WWII. He had begun working for Barber Coleman in Rockford, IL and was transferred to Huntsville as a foreman in their Air Distribution Manufacturing division in 1970. John was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church for over 42 years. He had also worked at Wal-Mart on Drake Avenue for 23 years. John loved giving back to the community and also played Santa Claus at various places for 12 years. John Zurowski was greatly loved and will be truly missed by many! You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, March 4, 2015 from 5-7 PM. The rosary will begin at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. The interment will immediately follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
