Joseph Lee Searcy, 66 of Toney, AL passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019. It is with a broken heart that I had to let my Romeo of 48 years go. God gave us a godly love that I will forever cherish! We were high school sweethearts. Joe fought the toughest battle to the end. I am the woman I am today because of him. He worked at Technicolor with so much pride in this job and people. All he wanted to do was to go back to work.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Donna Searcy; two daughters, Sherri Coons (Stephen), Jennifer Bell; four grandchildren, Jessy, Buddy, Brooke, CJ; five great grandchildren, Noah, Abby, Emma, Jace, Charolette; one sister, Deloris Rentzell; baby brother, Gary Searcy.
I can assure you that he gave his heart to Jesus on Easter Sunday, so we are assured that he will be with Jesus until we meet again. Joe was a former member of Faith Chapel and a current member of Meridianville Church of Christ. Work was Joe’s life, but he also enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, taking care of his home, spending time with his family, Alabama Football, video games and fishing. He had the best humor and his favorite phrases were “Let’s think about this” and “It is what it is!”
You may visit with the family on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services, officiated by Minister Randy Pyle and Minister Hank Mays will begin at 2:00pm in Valhalla’s Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Masonic Garden. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society. Cancer is a terrible disease taking down so many. God bless you and keep you in his care. Please leave fond memories and condolences for the entire Searcy family at www.valhallafunerals.com.
