Judith Sehler Blanche

Judy was born June 20, 1931 in North Augusta, SC to Jane Belle Stevenson and Karl Louis Sehler.

Although Judy aspired to become a nurse, during her lifetime she worked for Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company, JC Penney and Redstone Federal Credit Union. Judy was definitely a people person and was admired by everyone with whom she worked.

Judy was a kind, refined, positive thinking Southern lady whose faith guided her throughout her life. She loved and cared for her family, her friends and all stray animals that came within her reach. She was loved by so many in all walks of life and will be greatly missed by everyone she touched with hope and friendship.

Over the years, Judy was the mother of four children, 1283 needy or neglected animals and plants, and a collection of people who did not have their own mothers handy.

Volunteering was important to Judy and she shared her time and talents with the Pony Club, Community Ballet Association, Rocket City Rowing Club among other organizations.

Judy is survived by her son, Robert Blanche; daughter, Catherine Kennedy; granddaughter, Xia Blanche; niece, Jen Kato; nephews, Charles and Stephen Macuch; grandchildren, Maria Holland, Mitchell Holland, Gabrielle Blanche, Whitney Brown and great-niece Kasumi Kato. She is also survived by many dear friends she gathered throughout her adventures on Earth.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James F. Blanche; her sister, Carol Macuch; her son, David Alan Blanche; grandson, Joseph Pierce Blanche and great-niece Jacosa Kato.

Visitation for Judy will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2300 Beasley Ave NW, Huntsville, AL followed by a funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
