August 5, 1953 – March 1, 2024
Born to Thomas and Katie Jean Cambron in Owens Crossroads, AL, Judy left this Earth to be with her Lord and family on March 1, 2024. She is preceded in death by her best friend and father Thomas Cambron, her mother Katie Jean Cambron (Hornbuckle) and her brother Harold “Dean” Cambron.
She is survived by her amazing husband of 43 years, Bill Emmons, son Ricky (Aletha), daughters Jessica, Jennifer (Mark) and Janelle. She had 10 grandkids she loved with her whole heart, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Judy served her country for 20 years in the US Air Force where she met the love of her life at Moody Air Force Base in 1980. They, along with Ricky, became a family on July 17, 1981. Soon after, they were assigned duty at Yokota AB, Japan, where they welcomed a daughter, Jessica and twins, Jennifer and Janelle two short years later. Judy was respected as an exceptional leader and mentor during her Air Force career. She continued her service to the public through her multiple careers in the medical field until she retired in 2014.
Judy loved gardening, birdwatching (particularly enjoying the cardinals and hummingbirds), hunting as an annual family tradition, and catching catfish at her Uncle Donald’s pond. She poured her heart into her family, friends and dogs. She showed her love through kindness and generosity. Mom was the sounding board, confidant, and biggest cheerleader to so many and one who was always honest to the highest regard.
Most of all, she LOVED her people and Alabama football. ROLL TIDE!
