Mr. Harkness was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father and Papa.
Mr. Harkness was preceded in death by his wife of close to 40 years; Norma Harkness, mother; Bernice M. Howe, and father; Lewis G. Harkness, Sr.
He is survived by his 2 daughters; Lee Baites and husband, Pat, and Leslie Harkness, 2 granddaughters; Khya Baites and Miranda Baites, 3 sisters; June Timberlake (Bill), Eleanor Fish (Wallace), Veronica Carbonneau (Claude), brother; Wallace “Teddy” Howe (Isabelle).
You may visit with the family Friday, December 19th at Valhalla Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. There will be a funeral service at Valhalla Chapel commencing at 2:00 pm. The interment with Military Honors will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family has requested that donations be made to VFW.
