Libby devoted her life and her love to her husband of 69 years and to her children. She was a longtime member of West Huntsville Church of Christ, was an active member of Huntsville Park Church of Christ, and during her latter years was a member of Maysville Church of Christ.
Libby was known for her beautiful flower gardens. She also sold flowers and other plants that she started from seed in her greenhouse, grew flowers to make dried arrangements, and won multiple awards at craft shows and the Northeast Alabama State Fair for her beautiful and creative dried flower designs. Libby’s legacy was one of laughter. She loved to make every person that crossed her path laugh every day.
Libby was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Lyon, and her 5 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her children: Dr. Gilda Lyon, Randy Lyon, Bruce Lyon, and Tanjie (Bill) Kling, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren; and her brother, John Jenkins of Horton, Alabama.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 7 at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
