It is always difficult to say goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Today, family and friends we must say goodbye to our beloved, Linda Gail Bills Lamar, of Huntsville, AL formerly of Rogersville, AL. Linda passed from her earthly life Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home with family and friends surrounded around from a short battle with cancer. She was born April 16,1943 in Lauderdale County to Emmitt Bills and Lottie King Bills. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, James Dalton Lamar (Peabody); daughter, Belinda Kay Morrison; son in law, Doyle Evett, and her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Lamar (Sherry Burgess) and Michael Lamar (Jamie Byer); two daughters, Marchetta Evett and Christy Lamar (Wendell Odom Sr); grandchildren, Kayla, Tiffany, Cody and Misty Lamar, Brandy Dempsey, Barry Pack, Marlen Moore and Wendell Odom Jr., Jacob, Londyn, Landon and Michael Lamar Jr.; great grandchildren, Jo'Siah and Jay'Onna Cross, Destiny Lamar, Ja'Kobe Beverly, Colton, Landon and Zachary Dempsey, Jayla and Brailan Pack. She was known as Granny to them. Sisters, Judy Copeland (Joe) and Becky Sides and the late Herbert Sides; Her fur baby, a Dapple short hair Dachsund named Mater; nephews, nieces, cousins and host of friends.

Linda's hobbies were doing puzzles, flea markets, camping, Grand Ol Opry, drag racing, eating Catfish at Little Libby's, watching Alabama Football games (but not with Mark) she would say, he could cause you to have a heart attack. Most of all, watching her grandkids and great grandkids play, going to their birthday parties and swim. Linda was loving person, had a heart of gold. Never wanted any help of any sort, was always wanting to help others. She was a friend to many and not a person wanting recognition, a person of grace, wisdom and quiet minded.

She was left a widow at a young age and raised her five children alone, working at Martin Industries for 30 years and supported them with no help. It didn't take big money for her to survive. She was not one to spend big and knew how to use it wisely. She was nicknamed "Peewee" by a relative. One of her phases were; I can't say yes, and I can't say no. She didn't want to give a wrong answer. A humble person and she has left a legacy for each of us to follow. Most importantly, she loved God, was baptized and accepted Christ as her savior. She loved her family to the moon and back.

You may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:00am in Valhalla's Chapel. Interment will follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Anderson, AL. Ms. Linda was a very sweet, kind and respectful woman, who believed in treating everyone the way she wanted to be treated. She was a Godly Mother who cherished, loved and praised her children and she was a Godly Grandmother who loved and praised her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. I will always remember the special bond that my Nephew, Marlen Moore had with Grandmother, as he called, “My Granny.” Ms. Linda will truly be missed. To Kristi Lamar, Marlen Moore and the entire Lamar Family, I will continue praying for the Lord to give you all the strength you need during this time.
