Lyle Gene Eugene Medlen

LYLE EUGENE MEDLEN May 28, 1955 – August 27, 2015 Lyle Eugene Medlen, 60, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2015 with family by his side. Mr. Medlen was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Lossie Mae Tucker Medlen; and 1 brother, Donald Medlen. Survivors include his son, Scott Medlen of Shelbyville, TN; 2 sisters, Glenda Bailey (John) of Huntsville; Elon Jones (Jim) of Madison; and 2 brothers, Jennings B. Medlen of Huntsville, and James Bryant Medlen of Grey Court, SC; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as several other friends and relatives. Gene, as he was known to his friends and family, was an avid Alabama football fan, and enjoyed Bowling. He was a Computer Technician, and worked mostly with the government. Gene Medlen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him! You may visit with the family on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 12 pm Noon, conducted by Pastor Terrell Boyd in Valhalla’s Chapel. The entombment will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Garden’s, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to “Good Samaritans of Huntsville”.
