On the evening of March 15, 2016 Marcella closed her eyes to rest in the arms of the Lord. She was surrounded by her husband, children, mother and siblings.Marcella was born in Mobile, Alabama on April 11, 1962. She was the first born of Ollie and Martha Archie.
She gave her life to Christ at any early age at St. James P.B. Church. Marcella’s life legacy is that no matter what she endured, she encouraged others through her faithfulness and resilience to “trust in the Lord, no matter what may come”. She was constantly reminding her loved ones always be kind to others as you never know when you're entertaining angels, often unaware.
When Marcella was diagnosed with Scleroderma in 2005, it did not change her drive. She became a member of the National Scleroderma Foundation as well as founding President of the only Scleroderma Support Groupin North Alabama. Marcella was preceded in death by her father Ollie B. Archie;
her grandfather, David Brown; and her newborn grandson, Terrell Tobias Walker.
Marcella is survived by her husband, Gerald Scruggs; three devoted daughters, Dormika Archie-Scruggs, Dominique Holden (Tyrone) and Cherelle Scruggs; two sons,Otavious Scruggs and Gerelle Scruggs; her mother, Martha A. Archie; three sisters, Glynnis Archie-Bone (Ricky);Wanda Archie-Glover and Tesha L. Thompson (Javier); two brothers, Calvin Archie and Starrett Archie; a lifelong friend, Geraldine Burwell; and grandchildren, D’Nae Anelia Woods, Landon Le’Coy Woods, Donovan Le’Roy Woods, Leyton ReNae Woods, D’Ari Artisa Archie-Holden, Tyrin Dominic Holden, Charleigh Elizabeth Holden, Tarryn Da’Rae Scruggs, Jaylen Stephen Scruggs and Teliyah Nicole Scruggs.
