

Margaret was born in Hollywood, Florida, and spent her life devoted to caring for others through her family, her students, and her community. She retired after many years as a dedicated teacher with Huntsville City Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students with patience, kindness, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin E. Butler; her son, Christopher E. Butler; her father, Gerald T. Hodges; her mother, Mildred C. Hodges; and her brother, Wilfred T. Hodges.
She is survived by her son, Kevin L. Butler and daughter-in-law, Sarah F. Butler, of Huntsville, Alabama; grandson, Christopher L. Butler; granddaughter, Avery M. Butler; sister, Mary Edna Sharp and brother-in-law, Larry Sharp; along with several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Margaret was an avid gardener who found joy in making every season special through beautiful holiday decorations and a warm, welcoming home. She deeply loved and spoiled her pets, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She was a woman of quiet strength and unwavering devotion, always willing to sacrifice for those she loved.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Valhalla Memory Gardens 698 Winchester Road. Huntsville AL. 35811 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a graveside service immediately following.
Margaret’s kindness, generosity, and loving spirit will be remembered always by all who knew her.
