Marion L. "Doc" Ratcliff

father, Marion Lafayette Ratcliff, Sr.; brothers, Elvin Ratcliff and Lloyd P. Ratcliff. Precious memories will be cherished

by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Faye Ratcliff; sons, Joel Shayne Ratcliff and Kenneth “Bubba” Patrick Ratcliff (wife, Lisa B. Ratcliff).

He leaves to continue his legacy; grandchildren: Kenneth Patrick Ratcliff, Jr., Timothy Allen Ratcliff, Joel Shayne Ratcliff, Jr., Kiersten Layne Ratcliff,

Jennifer Johnson Thompson and Jason Nathaniel Johnson. Survivors also include siblings: Evelyn Anthony of Henderson, TX, Louise Peacock Gray

and Bonnie Jabour Evans of Vicksburg, MS, Regina Smithson of Brentwood, TN, Rosa Riggs of Lauderhill, FL, Dorothy Bodiford of Montrose, AL,

Lillian Morgan of Gonzalez, LA, Juanita Stewart of Monroe, LA, and brother Troy Delain Ratcliff of Alpharetta, GA, and many nieces and nephews.

Doc moved to Huntsville, AL in the early 60’s where he established Ratcliff Construction, and Keystone Construction and Repair. Throughout

the years, Doc developed many of Huntsville’s subdivisions, built numerous houses, apartment homes, town homes and commercial projects.

Doc was past president of the North Alabama Bass Association and a long- term member of The Huntsville Madison County Builders Association

and a previous deacon at Meadow Hills Baptist Church. Surrounded by his entire family, Doc, 79, passed away suddenly on October 10th, in Delhi, LA

where he was attending his family reunion. A highly respected man in the community and loved by many. Doc Ratcliff will be missed tremendously.
