Marvin Rubery, or “ Uncle Butch” as I had known him was someone I never had the chance to know super well. However, with the time I did spend with him it was apparent he was a very kind and generous person. I was just a little girl, but enjoyed his conversations and visits when he would come to Iowa to stay with Grandma Sharon (Sharon Wilson [Rubery]-sister). My deepest sympathies and prayers for comfort to those that were closest to him. 

I met Marv when I was between jobs as a database manager.   I temporarily worked as activities person at a residential assisted living.  He was the same age as my parentsand  was always one of the wittiest residents I worked with.  After I went back to my career, I stayed in touch as long as I could until my own mother was put into an assisted living facility.  I cherish our friendship.   He was one of my favorite friends.  I am so happy that I knew him.
