Mary Evelyn Broyles Burnette

Mary Evelyn Broyles Burnette, 90 of New Hope, AL passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Broyles and Walter Broyles; sister, Ruth Wells Dyer; husband, C.L. “Jack” Burnette; son, Kenny Burnette; stepson, Jerry Burnette.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kay Gentle (Dexter) of Hollytree, AL; sons, Clarence “Jackie” Burnette of New Hope, AL, Don Burnette (Carolyn) of Owens Cross Road, AL; stepson, Mike Burnette (Leslie) of Seymour, TN; step daughter-in-law, Sandra Burnette of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Tyler Burnette (Sara) of Huntsville, AL, Kayla Burnette of Huntsville, AL, Courtney Hallford (Gavin) of Jacksonville, AL; brother, Cliff Broyles of Simpsonville, SC.

Mary was retired from Chrysler Corporation. She was a member of Big Cove Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid flower gardener and had a love of animals, especially puppies. Mary was known for her great sense of wit and kept that wonderful trait until her passing. She was also a huge Alabama Football fan, ROLL TIDE! She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

You may visit with the family on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Kim Mitchel will begin at 4:00pm in Valhalla’s Chapel. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum.
