Mary Lawanda Flaugher

2 May 1937 - 4 August 2025

Mary was born to Melvin and Dulcie (Gailfus) Gessner in Cando, ND

In the early 1940's the family moved to Walkerton, IN, where Mary graduated from Walkerton High School.

August 25th, 1955, she married Richard Flaugher. While raising 5 children, she was active in her church and was employed by the Walkerton Post Office.

After she retired, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In 2008 Mary and her husband moved to Huntsville, AL to be closer to family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Dulcie Gessner, and her sister Norma Gessner.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Flaugher of Huntsville, AL, her brother, Monte (Mary) Gessner of Howards Grove, WI. 5 children, Rick (Gena) Flaugher of Tallahassee, FL, Karen Bottorff of Huntsville, David (Janice) Flaugher of Tucson, AZ, Dianne (Jim) Stewart of Huntsville, John (Amy) Flaugher of Huntsville. 8 grandchildren, Jessica Goins of Huntsville, Dana (Matthew) Hodges of Huntsville, Jorge Stewart of Huntsville, Brooke (Chris) Roberts of Panama City Beach, FL, Erik (Lauren) Flaugher of Cape May, NJ, Ashley (Jimmy) McKeever of Lakeville, IN, Jacob Flaugher of Huntsville, Joshua Flaugher of Huntsville. 12 great grandchildren, Zoe, Kristopher, Gabriel and David Goins, Alex, Joseph, Auggie, and Luke Hodges, Riley and Rhett Roberts, Caden McKeever and baby McKeever arriving in February.
