Mary Lee Walton and Howard L. Walton

Born December 19, 1935 in Fayette County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her father George Lee Uptain, mother, Mary Roberta Nelson Uptain, brothers, Davis and Amos Uptain, and son, Edward Lee Gray.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howard Walton; one son, Richard Gray and wife, Teresa of Pensacola, Florida; two daughters, Candie Walton (Anna Johnson) of Meridianville, Alabama and Joy Suttles and husband, Tim of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters, Anna Jennings of Huntsville, Alabama and Julia Francis of Warrior, Alabama; one brother, Leonard Uptain of Carbon Hill, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Beth Kornfield and husband, Marc of Alpharetta, Georgia, April Whatley and husband, Greg of McCalla, Alabama, Matt Gray of Dallas, Texas; Xander Suttles, Liz Suttles (Hayden Arceneaux), Chris Gray of Huntsville, Alabama, Michael Rusk and Tiffany Goff of Pensacola, Florida. and four great-grandchildren, Savannah Whatley of McCalla, Alabama, Dorian Gray of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Will and Caleb Kornfield of Alpharetta, Georgia.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 5:00 pm Monday, October 1, 2018 at Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama with Rev. Miriam Smith Klose officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 1, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice, 5000 Bradford Dr. NW#3a, Huntsville, Alabama 35805.

Howard L. Walton, 90, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Born October 25, 1927 in Walker County, he was preceded in death by his father Lucious M. Walton and mother, Floy A. Herron Walton, brothers, Alvin Walton, Buddy Walton, and Barney Walton, sisters, Margaret McDonald and Nell Shelton, one son, Edward Gray.

He is survived by one son, Richard Gray and wife, Teresa of Pensacola, Florida; two daughters, Candie Walton (Anna Johnson) of Meridianville, Alabama and Joy Suttles and husband, Tim, of Huntsville, Alabama; three sisters, Sara Francis Price of Fayette, Alabama, Bessie Ham of Fayette, Alabama and Billie Ann Walton of Fayette, Alabama; three brothers, Earl Walton of Fayette, Alabama, James Walton of Halsted, Kansas, and Ben Walton of Fayette, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Beth Kornfield and husband, Marc, of Alpharetta, Georgia, April Whatley and husband, Greg, of McCalla, Alabama, Matt Gray of Dallas, Texas; Xander Suttles, Liz Suttles (Hayden Arceneaux) and Chris Gray of Huntsville, Alabama, Michael Rusk and Tiffany Goff of Pensacola, Florida; and four great-grandchildren, Savannah Whatley of McCalla, Alabama, Dorian Gray of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Will and Caleb Kornfield of Canton, Georgia.
