

Mary Cooper Wilson (Mary Sillia Cooper) was born February 12, 1930, in Mountain Creek, Alabama, to the late Alonzo (A.L.) Cooper and Lillie Ann Cooper. Her parents and brothers, Hilbert Lee Cooper and Alonzo Cooper, II; and former husband, James E. Wilson preceded her in death.
Mary obtained a certificate in shorthand and typing from W.A. LeCroy Career Technical Center in Clanton, Alabama. This accomplishment allowed her the opportunity to be hired by Alabama Power Company as a Clerk Typist. After 16 years and 6 months of service and contribution to the development and progress of the Company, she retired on October 1, 1991.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter, Brenda L. Wilson (Greg); granddaughter, Terri L. Artis (Terrence); great-grandson (James); nephew, Alonzo Cooper, III (Mary); nieces (Gloria Davis, Debra Beckon, Irma Martin (Robert) and Norma Jean Cooper; and a circle of cousins, great and great-great nieces, great and great-great nephews, and friends.
Ninety-six years of a bright and beautiful life came to a peaceful close Saturday evening, August 1, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama.
A Committal Service will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens & Funeral, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811, US, on August 6, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
