Michael "Mike" Gary Finley

There is a time and a season for everything. Our beloved Husband, brother, son, uncle cousin and friend, was called to Glory on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Michael was born to the late Moses Percel Finley and the late Willie Lee Money Finley on February 19, 1953.

While matriculating at Hays High School in Birmingham, Alabama, he met the love of his life, Sandra G. Henderson. They grew in their love for one another by dating for about six years and eventually, their love resulted in a marital union that lasted, until his departure, for 48 beautiful years. The void left by his absence is undefinable.

Michael Gary Finley worked for over 30 years, until his retirement, with the United States government where his role as an engineer pioneered the field of mechanics. However, not one to rest on his laurels, Michael continued with an entrepreneurial ideology and began buying, selling and renting homes to those who would otherwise be challenged in securing housing.

The void left by Michael’s absence will be felt by more than a few and for more years than can be imagined.

Michael Gary Finley leaves to cherish his memory the following persons: the person who made life worth living and the other half of his heart, Sandra G. Finley; his sister, Rhonda A. Caldwell (Reginald); brother and sister-in-law, Ceasar O. and Meteasa L. Henderson; brother-in-law, Kevin T. Henderson; sister-in-law, LaKesha Sails, Aunt Sister Frost and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, special family, godchildren and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Percel Finley, Jr., George Edward Finley and Beverly A. Perry.

Calling hours will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home, located at 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL, on November 8, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL, on November 9, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.

Michael Gary Finley, you have left an indelible mark on every life that you have touched. Your memory will forever linger in our hearts and minds. Take your rest kind Sir. Well Done!!
