Nancy Clare Gibson Voytek

July 24, 1952 – July 15, 2015

Nancy Clare Gibson Voytek, beloved mother and wife, passed away on July 15, 2015 at home

surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 24, 1952 to F. Clay Gibson, M.D. and Margaret “Margy” Gibson.

Nancy graduated from Greater Latrobe Area High School and then from Carlow University in 1975. She worked at

Latrobe Area Hospital for 3 years. Nancy and Michael R. Voytek were married at Unity Chapel in Latrobe, PA on August 19, 1979.

In 1980, Nancy and Mike relocated to southern California to start their life together. On July 26, 1984, her first son Matthew

was born in Henderson, NV. After brief stops in Corona, CA; Orem, UT; and Spring, TX, they settled in Huntsville, AL

where Patrick was born on November 4, 1991. Nancy’s sons were the pride of her life. Nancy loved all living things,

especially her family, friends, dogs, cats and garden plants. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville, AL,

as well as the United Methodist Women, Dove Circle. Nancy was happiest while spending time with her family.

She also enjoyed walking her dogs and watching the birds at her bird feeder. Nancy was an incredibly strong and independent woman

who was always more interested in offering help than receiving it. Her parents, Clay and Margy Gibson, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Voytek of Huntsville, AL; two sons, Matthew Voytek of Minneapolis, MN and Patrick Voytek of Huntsville, AL;

two sisters, Margaret “Butch” Hauser of Traverse City, MI and Patricia “Patty” Zimmerman of Ligonier, PA; nieces and nephews,

as well as many other family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church - Huntsville, AL.

A reception will follow at the church.
