

Dr. Pat Reynolds Odom of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully at Magnolia Trace Senior Living Community on November 17, 2015 after several years with Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Odom, daughters, Andrea Guthrie of Bradenton, FL, & Jana Baudendistel (Ted) of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren, Lauren Guthrie of Murfreesboro, TN, Brittany Guthrie of Charleston, SC, Sarah Baudendistel of Tuscaloosa, AL, John Baudendistel of Murfreesboro, TN, sister Joan Smith (Coley) of Alexander City, AL & many nieces & nephews whom he loved dearly.
Dr. Odom was an aerospace engineer, Bible teacher & avid volunteer in the Huntsville area serving on a number of non-profit boards & community leadership committees. He served on Boards of Directors including Redstone Federal Credit Union, Downtown Rescue Mission, Hospice Family Care, Community Ballet, Tennessee Council Boy Scouts, United Way & Huntsville Achievement School.
Dr. Odom served on several committees through Redstone Federal Credit Union, the National Space Propulsion Synergy Team, First Baptist Church of Huntsville & various other organizations. He was a part time Professor of Engineering at UAH for 20 years, active in Rotary International & Gideon's International on the local & state levels, co¬founder of the KCA (Keep Christmas Alive) annual music festival at the Von Braun Center & a national speaker the AIAA conferences for aeronautical engineers.
Funeral arrangements are through Valhalla Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Dr. Odom wholeheartedly supported The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, The Downtown Rescue Mission of Huntsville & the distribution of Bibles by Gideon's International among many others. Funeral arrangements are with Valhalla Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 20 with a life celebration immediately following at 2 p.m.
