A proud veteran, Mr. Meagher retired from the United States Army with the rank of Sergeant Major, a distinction that reflected a life shaped by duty, discipline, and steadfast service.
Mr. Meagher was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Mary Meagher, who were originally from Ireland and later lived in New York City after coming to the US. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Tomoko Azuma Meagher of Fukushima, Japan, and his second wife, Georgia Reppert Meagher of Kokomo, Indiana.
He is survived by his children: Katharine Meagher (Kevin) Ewing of Hickory, North Carolina; Michael Meagher of Harvest, Alabama; Patricia Meagher of Huntsville, Alabama; and Aurele Hendricks of San Francisco, California.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tut Fann State Veterans Home, 2701 Meridian St N, Huntsville AL 35811.
