

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, H. Jack Leonard, her parents, and her sister Cleta Mae Tesney.
Pauline is survived by her children: Rick Leonard (Winnet) of Huntsville, Alabama, Dana Leonard Sheffield (Terry Mark) of Dauphin Island, Alabama, and Stacy Leonard Thornton (Terry Lee) also of Huntsville; grandchildren, John-David Sheffield (Cassie), Mary Katelynn Sheffield (fiancé, Blake Mead), Morgan Scogin (Dustin), and Kristen Hale (Spencer); as well as great grandchildren, Jackson Sheffield, Alaina and Ryan Scogin, Tucker Lee Hale, and brother William "Bill" Tesney along with her extended families at Lakewood United Methodist Church and South Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center. In addition, Pauline has left behind a host of nieces and nephews as well as many others that considered her family and often lovingly called her Nonnie.
Shortly after graduating from Marion County High School, Pauline and Jack married and spent 66+ years loving each other, raising their children, and caring for the many people that passed through their lives. Pauline had always valued education and worked together with Jack to insure that all three of their children graduated from high school and college with academic honors. The value of education was also passed down to her grandchildren, all of whom have earned college degrees.
Pauline was an avid reader and wonderful cook. She enjoyed combining her love of reading and cooking, often buying a new cookbook and reading all of the recipes before deciding just which ones to tryout. Additionally, Pauline's love of reading also played an important role in her daily Bible Study. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and had been an active member of the Mary Martha church circle.
Pauline was an amazing seamstress and sewed many beautiful clothes for her children as they grew up as well as her grandchildren before her sight began to fail.
Visitation for Pauline will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a small service for family and close friends which will be held in the chapel. A public graveside service will be held on the grounds at 3:00 PM at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
