Ray Alan Harriss was born August 15, 1945, and passed away April 29, 2026. Ray was a great husband to his wife Phyllis Harriss, and a great dad to Rachel (Brian) Surratt, Jay (Heidi) Harriss, and Michelle (Matt) North. He was an amazing Grandpa to Lydia (James) Hall, Christopher Surratt, Israel Montano, Isaiah Montano, Matthew Harriss, David North and Leahannah Harriss, and Great-Grandpa to Eliza Hall.
Ray was born and raised in Memphis, and he took great pride in his hometown. He especially loved cheering on the Memphis Tigers football and basketball teams.
Ray enjoyed music throughout his life, with a special love for The Beatles and Elvis Presley, and even worked as a radio DJ. He also loved trains and spent many hours watching old westerns, which brought him comfort and joy.
Ray loved Jesus and strived to follow him throughout his life. He loved his family deeply and treasured the time he spent with them. He will be remembered for his love of family, his interests, and the simple joys that meant so much to him.
