She was the manager of Plamor Bowling Lanes for many years before retiring. She was also a member of Clements Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou and Floyd Self; her husband James K. Taylor; and her siblings Author Self, F C Self, James Self, Bertie Martin, Gertie Anderson, Lorene Montgomery, and Delois Kirby.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Whitt and Troy Whitt; one granddaughter Christina and husband Jacob Chaney; one grandson Dustin and wife Jessica Taylor; three great granddaughters; and two sisters Ann and husband Bobby Wilson, and Joan and husband Bubba Murphy.
