Dear family of Robert Kikta:  Bob and I grew up in the Mount Pleasant area of Cleveland in the 50s and 60s.  We attended Corlett Elementary, Alexander Hamiliton Junior High and John Adams High School together.  He was a good friend and companion.  I enjoyed seeing Bob at our high school reunions recalling our younger days.  Deepest condolences to his family.  May he rest in peace.

It was with great sadness that I received the word of Mr. Kitka's passing.
More than a supervisor he was a friend and a mentor.
He will always be remembered,

I never met Bob in person, but I considered him to be my friend. He was my supervisor for many years. He honestly cared for each one of his teammates which was pretty hard considering how many different personalities there were. I would talk with him at least weekly and see him during video conferences. Always had a corny joke at some point. He would support and stand up for you and straighten you out when you started to stray. My personal Bob story is mid-way through my career I decided I wanted to stop contracting and left the contract for another position. Well within weeks that job went sour. I called Bob and asked to come back if the position hadn't been filled. He supported me and worked to get me reinstated for which I was truly thankful. That act of kindness and dedication enable me to retire last year after 35 years working for NASA. 

We were so sorry to hear about Uncle Bobby's passing. I have fond memories of him when I met him at our wedding and seeing him in Ohio for a couple of occasions. Matt would call him and I'm glad he got to see him a couple months ago. He would leave sweet comments on my Facebook posts about us and the kids and I always enjoyed the funny stories of the guys out on the farm together with him. He will be missed.

Bob was a co-worker of mine for several years at the Marshall Space Flight Center. He was kindhearted and funny. One year he spent Christmas with my family, since he was here in the south away from his family. He always enjoyed his time with his family and his trips to his cabin. One year at Easter, when my three girls were small, he bought them Easter baskets. When I told them of his passing, those baskets are what they mentioned.  I'm sorry that he is gone!

Bob was a good boss and a great friend.  I worked for him in the early 2000s and he always had a joke to tell.  Rest in Peace Bob.

So sad to hear that Bob has passed. Bob was a kind and caring individual.  We shared many laughs over the years at MSFC.  Rest well my friend!

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He hired me so many years ago at Goddard Space Flight Center, promoted me to a position at Lewis Research Center and I was fortunate to be promoted to his position at Marshall Space Flight Center upon his retirement. He was my boss, a mentor but always my friend. 

Psalm 73:26 - My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

I just spoke to Bob last Tuesday. We spoke about his limited mobility but  he never let things  get him down. He said everyday was a blesssing. He knew the Lord so I am happy Bob is now in His hands. I have great memories of him and will  miss him.
