Robert “Brian” Lutz, MD, age 64, died fighting Covid on August 13, 2021. He devoted his life to medicine and, throughout this pandemic, continued to provide essential medical services at his three practices.
He was born March 23, 1957, to Betty and Robert Lutz in Kansas City, Missouri. At the age of 7, they relocated to Berrien Springs, Michigan. He graduated from Andrews Academy in 1977 on the Honor Roll. Brian proceeded to attend Loma Linda School of Medicine and graduated in 1982 on the Dean's List. He completed his residency at Methodist Hospital - Obstetrical and Gynecology in 1986 and dedicated himself to West Al Health Service before starting his first practice in July 1987 at Livingston, TN.
He will forever be cherished and remembered by his wife, Linda Lutz, his children Angela, Erik, and Stacey Lutz. His sister, Brenda Shelton and her husband, Ted Shelton, along with their children, Kayla McKeon and Kasey Hunt, twins Nicholas and Nathan Shelton. His grandchildren, Sparrow and Ozzie Lutz.
Brian was an adored son, brother, father, husband, and grandfather. He will forever be remembered for his love for God and his family, and, of course, his sense of humor. Brian enjoyed nature, traveling, and he always made everything an adventure. He brought joy to everyone, whether it be at the office, or at the dining table. He will always be remembered by everyone he cared about or anyone he took care of.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Betty Walker, fathers Robert Davis Lutz MD, and Harry Walker.
He will be missed dearly.
A visitation for Brian will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Visitation at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life service will occur Monday, August 23, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
