Roland William Miles

It is with our deepest sadness that the family of Roland William Miles announce his passing after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the age of 48 years. Roland resided in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was born July 6, 1972 in Freeport, Texas to Ronald Miles and Evelyn Miles.

Roland proudly served in the US Coast Guard. After being honorably discharged he became an ASE Certified Automobile Master Technician. After many years in that career Roland decided to become a Certified Building Contractor in the state of Florida. Roland was very proud to hold a General Security Clearance allowing him into all areas of NASA's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Roland then developed an interest in computer software and became a Technical Support Manager and then a Senior Sales Engineer.

When Roland enjoyed free time you could find him spending time with family and friends, boating, fishing, watching a rocket launch, gardening, or enjoying a nature hike or walk on the beach. Roland was a volunteer at heart and loved to give of himself to help others with anything they needed. Roland once broke his back when he fell assisting neighbors with putting up their hurricane shutters. That didn't stop him though, as soon as he healed he was back to helping anyone in need. He was that person that would listen to your problems, buy a homeless man a nice meal, stop to assist the victims of an auto accident, help you move furniture, or even buy you new tires! Roland had the best sense of humor and was the life of the party. He will certainly be missed here on Earth by all who ever crossed paths with him in any way.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Megan Miles, grandmother Dorothy Allen, mother Evelyn Miles, sister Christina Spear (Todd), uncle Dean Allen, cousin William “Billy” Allen, cousin Robert Allen, nephew Sylvester Viaclovsky (Heather) and their 2 children, niece Anna Viaclovsky and her 2 children, nephew Zachariah Harris, and niece Sara Mann (Paul) and their soon to be born son, girlfriend Katherine Eaton Faye.

Roland was preceded in death by his grandfather William Edward Allen, his aunt Mary Hagy, and cousin Steven Thompson.

A Celebration of Life for Roland will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
