Rosa Walters Anthony went to be with Jesus early Sunday morning, June 2, 2024, surrounded by her family. As others were worshiping their Savior in church, Rosa was worshiping Him face to face for the first time. She now continues her life in His presence forever.
Rose was a beloved wife, mother to four, and “Grandmother” to five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Rose was born May 8,1945 in Bridgeport, Alabama and raised by Arthur and Willie Mae Walters, growing up among nine brothers and sisters. She married Jimmy Anthony on June 15,1963 and lived a life with him for 51 years. Together, they created a family that continues to grow today, reflecting the love, kindness, and selflessness Rose poured into every person.
To be in Rose’s presence was to experience her love. She showed it on her face, with her hugs, and with her “sugar.” It also filled your heart through her voice. And she especially poured out her love onto her family. Her husband, her kids, her grandkids, and her great grandkids were her pride and her purpose. Rose is now experiencing in heaven what she reflected on earth: sacrificial love, faithfulness, comfort, protection, and joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy C Anthony, her father, Arthur Walters, her mother, Willie Mae Campbell Walters, five brothers: John Walters, Charlie Walters, Edward Walters, James Walters, and Lonnie Walters, one sister: Missy Walters, and one granddaughter Ashley Green.
Rose’s life will continue to be celebrated by her surviving family including three daughters: Pamela Christine Lynch, Barbara Ann Carter with her husband Johnathan, and Carla Rosette Tuck with her husband Gary, one son: Samuel Jesse Anthony II with his wife Caitlin, two brothers: Frank Junior Walters, and Don Walters, one sister: Jane Walters, two granddaughters: Candice Pinzon and Adrienne Moon, two grandsons: Joshua Carter and Jared Carter, six great grandsons and five great granddaughters.
Visitation for Rosa will be held on Thursday, June 13, from 11am – 1pm followed by the celebration of life service to begin at 1pm at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
Rosa will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memory Gardens followed by a reception for all.
