Rosie was born November 21, 1944, to Rose Louise (Donohoe) and William Paul Wilson in Norwood (Boston) MA. In 1947 her family moved to Florida where she attended Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary and graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1960. She worked at Southeast Bank in Miami as a loan officer.
Rosie married Archie on Halloween 1964 at Keesler Air Force Base. As an Air Force Wife of 27 years, she had a new job at each duty station in banking, military procurement, and school guidance secretary (her favorite as she loved helping needy students). Rosie was an avid lover of holiday gatherings with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, especially in Europe and Cruising. She enjoyed boating and water-skiing and did so until a week before her first child was born. She often stated she loved being a military wife for the opportunities it gave her and always looked forward to a moving van arriving. Rosie retired in 2009 as executive secretary from Baron Weather.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Archie Phillips, daughter Kathleen Youngblood, grandchildren, Katelyn Aldridge, Seth and Christian Phillips, and great-grandson Kai Wass. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and William Wilson, son Raymond Phillips and brothers William, Thomas, Edward and Charles Wilson.
There will be a Mass to celebrate Rosie’s life at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church.
The family thanks Compassus Hospice for the loving comfort they provided Rosie in her final days
