Sara Vernell Adams

In 1962 she married Talmadge Adams Jr. with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. She and her husband lived in Huntsville for over 50 years where they were active at Southside Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with children. She graduated from Calhoun Community College in 1978 in Nursing. She worked at Huntsville Hospital for over 20 years. After retiring she and her husband enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and traveling. Some of their favorite places include the beach and the Tennessee mountains as well as going to Auburn football games.

She was preceded in death by her parents Laston and Frances Mathis. Survivors include her husband Talmadge Adams Jr. and her sister Peggy Woodham. Her children Katherine Traylor (John), Michael Adams (Karen),Carol Larsen (Chris). She had 8 grandchildren, Sara Simmons (Ben), Philip Traylor (Mallory), Rachel Wilson (Haden), Anna Phillips (Andrew), Austin Adams (Marie), Alyssa Swanson (Jonathan), Hannah Larsen and Rebecca Larsen. She had 2 great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Whitesburg Baptist Church South Campus Chapel on Friday, February 20th at 11am with visitation at 10am. A graveside service will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
