Shirley Janet Womack

Shirley dedicated much of her life to education, spending 30 years with Huntsville City Schools. She touched the lives of countless students throughout her career and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and caring spirit. She had a gift for making others feel valued and leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pauline Wilson; sister, Linda Deerman; brother, Jimmy Wilson; and Jimmy Womack, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Karen Hutzler (Richard); her son, Craig Womack (Jorge Perez); brother, Dr. Michael Wilson; and many beloved family members and friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 15, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Interment will immediately follow.
