

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan Accardo, a beloved mother and cherished grandmother. Born on January 14th 1935, Susan journeyed to her eternal rest on January 16th 2024. She was a paragon of strength and dedication, whose resilient spirit and generosity made her a guiding light to her children and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Susan's indomitable spirit was often reflected in her character, which was defined by honesty, hard work, and exceptional generosity. Her sharp wit and mastery over words not only added warmth to numerous lives, but also mapped a path for others to follow.
She firmly believed in hard work, independence, and the importance of crafting one's own destiny regardless of societal chatter. Perhaps, the best testament to her beliefs was Susan herself, who tirelessly worked her entire life to support her family.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Deborah (Kenneth) Jason, Gregory (Cheryl) Saiki, Bryant (Roxanne) Saiki, Jamie (Teri) Accardo and Joseph Accardo.
She will be forever missed and loved by her 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her resilient spirit lives on in them, and will continue to inspire them every day. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Mario J Accardo and her son, Jimmy Hale.
A viewing will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL for Susan on January 24th 2024, at 6pm.This provides family and friends an opportunity to pay their final respects.
Her life will be celebrated with a brief graveside service on January 25th 2024, beginning at 11:00 am at Valhalla Funeral Home. This will be followed by the graveside service at Faith Memorial Park-8100 Madison Blvd, Madison, AL.
These moments of remembrance will provide an occasion not only to mourn the void that her departure has left in our lives, but also to celebrate the love and inspiration she imparted to all of us.
