Thomas Ray Byrd, 59, of Huntsville, passed away on Friday, July 4. Tom was born in Hamilton, Ohio and moved to Huntsville as a child. Tom was in the class of 1973 at Butler High School. He worked as an Engineer at Wyle Laboratories, and earlier at Lockheed Martin and General Electric in Huntsville. Tom was an avid golfer, a movie and music enthusiast, an excellent chef, and a longtime Cincinnati Reds fan. Tom is survived by his wife, Kathy Byrd; his son, Steven Byrd; his mother, Ruby Byrd; his brother, William Byrd; and nieces and nephews Jennifer Faulkner, Jimmy Faulkner, Susan Byrd, and Chris Byrd. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ray Byrd. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8th in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 120 Greene Street, from 10:00 to 12:00, followed by the Funeral Service from 12:00 to 1:00. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
