Thomas Earl Hammonds

Thomas Earl Hammonds, AKA (TC), was born on March 2, 1939 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Christine Toney and Lloyd Powers. He transitioned from his labor to reward on June 25, 2016. Thomas was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby M. Toney Chunn.

Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memories: Loving Companion for 46 years Dorothy Shine Harris; seven step children: Dutchess Nicholas (James), Eunice Adams (Cleven), Diane Shine, Cynthia Harris (Oliver), James Shine (Marie), Christopher Harris (Queena), all of Huntsville, Alabama, and Robert E. Harris, Jr. of Riverside, California; four sisters, Georgia Mae Everson (Fred), Edith Toney, Martha Slaughter, Doris Toney, all of Huntsville; three brothers; Robert Slaughter, Sr., Kerry L. Scott, all of Huntsville, Alabama, and George H. Toney, of Nashville, TN; special granddaughter Khaliah Shine-Burns and a host of grand children, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 9:00am until 8:00pm. Mr. Hammonds will lie in state on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 10:00am in Valhalla's Chapel.
