RET. SSG Travis Eugene "Gene" Roland, age 77, of Brownsboro, Alabama passed away on Monday October 28, 2024. Gene was born on March 24,1947 in Nashville, Georgia. Gene is preceded in death by his father; Julian Clarence Roland, mother; Lourine Taylor, his beloved wife; Judy C. Roland, his brother; Earl Roland and his sister; Margie Pruett.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters; Tracie Roland and Kelly Roland, his granddaughter; Elizabeth Pope, two sisters; Nancy Adams and Faye McCloskey.
Gene was a retired Staff Sergeant, where he Proudly served our Country in the United States Army. He loved spending time with his family, Gene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Gene will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM, officiated by Stephen Ward. Burial will immediately follow at the Garden of Valor with Full Military Honors.
