

Born September 20th, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated Temple University with a B.S. in education and a master's degree from Columbia University. She taught home economics and English in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and California. In between her teaching, she spent time in art and crafts classes, church work, and American Association of University Women (AAUW). She was the Adult Program Director for the YWCA in Redlands, California. She volunteered at times placing beautiful flowers on the Rose Parade floats.
In 1970, Fred Muhl (working for Martin Marietta, now Lockheed Martin) was transferred to Huntsville, Alabama where they spent 56 wonderful years.
Billie was always busy. She worked for Ben Porter Real Estate, was an active member of the Huntsville Art Museum as a docent and the woman's guild, where she received the Doris Darling Award. She was married to Fred Muhl for 78 years and enjoyed boating, ice skating, square dancing, traveling, and going to the theater, play, and operas. One of the most exciting times was when she and Fred went skydiving both at 95 years old!
She is proceeded in death by her husband Fred Muhl and survived by four daughters, seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held sometime in the near future.
