William Wayne Brothers

Wayne graduated from Sardis High School and continued his education at Jacksonville State University with a Master's Degree in Education. In addition to being a high school teacher, Wayne was a passionate high school football coach. Over the years, Wayne coached at Guntersville High School, Scottsboro High School, and Lee High School. Following his teaching career, Wayne started his own business in 1979, L&W Motors. Wayne excelled in this career for over 35 years, often working alongside his brother, Donald Brothers, and retired in 2015.

Wayne married Linda Chapman Brothers in 1969. For 31 years, they were blessed with the joy of raising a family together until she passed in 2000. They were avid Auburn football fans, spent summers at the lake, and were members of Jackson Way Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL.

Wayne married Helen Roberta Brothers in 2003. Together, they enjoyed retirement, boating on Guntersville Lake and Lake Martin, watching and attending Auburn football games, and spending time with family.

Wayne is proceeded in death by his first wife, Linda Chapman Brothers; his parents, Earl and Pluma Brothers; and his brother, Donald Ray (Mary) Brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Roberta Brothers; his children, Leah (Todd) Woodruff and Will (Gia) Brothers; his grandchildren, Haley, Abbigail, and Luke Woodruff, and Levi, William Henry and Louise Brothers; his step children, Lynn (Wade) Alexander and Dena Hope Little; his step grandchildren, Maggie and Emma Little, Kristin Pain, Wade and Elizabeth Alexander; his step great grandchildren, Mickey, Alex and Natalie Pain and Ace Alexander; his sister, Carolyn Ann (Gary) Dunham, and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members that he loved dearly. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will begin at 2:00pm, Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Valhalla Funeral Home, Huntsville, AL with Funeral Service following at 3:00pm.
