

William (Bill) Ernest Hogan, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Bill was born on February 11, 1944; the only child to Ernest and Alice Hogan, in Talladega, AL. He would eventually move to Huntsville, AL when he was a young boy. He was raised in Huntsville, AL and helped at his father's grocery store. He graduated from Butler High School in 1962, and then served in the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he finished his degree in Wildlife Management from Auburn University in 1968. At the age of 19, he became a Christian, and soon afterwards was baptized on Mother's Day with his mother.
He married Diane Jordan on Feb. 19, 1971 after he had started Hogan Trucking Company in Huntsville, AL. After retiring from his trucking company, he moved his family to a farm in Grant, AL in 1984 and continued to work in various forms of transportation. He was never afraid of hard work, and he was often told that he was the hardest worker they had ever known. Also, he was a devoted husband of 54 years and a dedicated father to a daughter and a son. His favorite past time was fishing, farming, splitting wood, and watching his grandchildren in their activities. He had a passion for serving others and leading worship music during the church service.
Bill is survived by his wife, Diane Jordan Hogan, his daughter, Leigh Brown, his son, Ben (Monica) Hogan, and his grandson, Hogan Brown, his granddaughters, Ella Kate Hogan and Raley Brown.
We would like to thank Hospice of North Alabama for their loving and excellent care during his sickness. Also, we appreciate the thoughts and prayers during this time.
A private family funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6th at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
