On the morning of March 31, 2019, William DeCarroll Reeves (aka “D” to his friends in Huntsville, AL) passed away at Redstone Village. DeCarroll was born in Palestine, Arkansas on February 7, 1940. He was the first child of Irene and Carl Reeves.
After graduating from high school, he attended Arkansas State University where he attained a Bachelor of Science degree. Shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army and retired with honors in 1983 after 20 years of service. DeCarroll met his wife Norma in Panama City, Panama and they were married in 1969. They remained inseparable for the next 49 years.
DeCarroll enjoyed golfing, hunting, gardening and traveling but his passion was training his beloved Labs to compete in regional hunt tests. Two of his dogs were awarded AKC master titles. He also volunteered at the Huntsville Obedience Training Club and as an ESL teacher for children and adults.
DeCarroll is survived by his wife, Norma; his brother, Lawrence and many cousins, nieces and nephews. DeCarroll was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Irene Reeves.
