Carol E. Kohls

Homecoming queen, family comedian, and much beloved Carol Elinore (McGinnis) Kohls passed away, peacefully surrounded by her family and wearing her favorite color purple, on September 7, 2023, at the age of ninety-six. A preschool and elementary teacher, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Carol was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on January 18, 1927. Her husband Herbert Kohls and brothers Galen and William McGinnis predeceased her.

Carol was a member of First Congregational Church, and a teacher at the Meridian Hills Cooperative Nursery School & Kindergarten.

Those surviving Carol include daughter Kristine Isenberg (Steven) and son Kevin Kohls (Laura); grandchildren, Jason Isenberg (Margaret Berg), Mark Isenberg (Jodi), Amanda Alden (Andrew), Caroline Emerson (Alex) and Stephanie Kohls; and great-grandchildren Maxwell, Walton, Ingrid, Walker, Elena, and Henry Isenberg and Hudson, Faison, and Lila Alden.

A private graveside service will be set for a future date. The family is grateful for the gentle and compassionate care provided to Carol by Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living and Anew Hospice.
