

Carolyn June Wente, born on June 1, 1941, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Carolyn attended Manuel High School, where she began building the foundation of a life filled with warmth, generosity, and devotion to those she held dear.
Carolyn was known for her deep love of family gatherings, especially the joyful celebrations of birthdays and holidays, which she cherished and made memorable for everyone around her. Her home was a place of laughter, comfort, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her children: Brian Wente (Heather), Kevin Wente (Tammy), and Anita Short (Dan); her grandchildren: Erik, Delaney, Lydia, Brett, Scott, and Christian; 4 great grandchildren; and her extended family including niece Pam Siegman, niece Jenny Hamblin, nephew David Muller, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Wente; her parents, Carl and Marie Woods; her beloved in-laws, Marion and Joseph Robert Wente; her sister-in-law Susan Muller; and eight brothers and sisters, whose memories she carried with her always.
In honor of Carolyn’s life and legacy, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation in lieu of flowers.
Services will be private, as Carolyn wished for a quiet farewell surrounded by those closest to her.
Her spirit, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
