IN THE CARE OF
Leppert Mortuaries - Nora
Christa J. Jackson,
74, of Indianapolis, departed this life Sunday, March 12, 2023. Christa was born June 10, 1948 in Evansville, Indiana to Tom & Mazo (Lovan) Woods. She spent her early years growing up in Georgia and later returned to finish her elementary education in Evansville. She had earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University and then went on to further earn her degree in communications from the University of Texas.
Over the years, Christa lived in many places following opportunities and loved meeting new friends and learning their stories. She had worked at AT&T for many years in management and also enjoyed working at Nordstrom and Chico’s in her later years. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved to celebrate the little things that life has to offer. She was happiest making meaningful memories with her beloved family and friends, travelling to experience new things, reading a good book to relax, decorating her home and anything the color purple.
Christa was preceded in death by her father, Tom Woods. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Jackson; devoted daughter, Claire (Tim) Claffey; beloved mother, Mazo Woods; loving siblings, Mike (Kay) Woods and Becky (Bill) Klenk; grateful grandsons, Trevor & Charlie Claffey and dear step-sons, Jason (Angela) Jackson & Scott Jackson (partner- Alexis Lombardo) as well as, several nieces, nephews, grateful students and old friends.
A Celebration of Life for Christa will be held on Friday, March 17th from 2 – 5 pm at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel.
