Chuck Carroll, 55, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on October 1, 2026. Born May 26, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Chuck was born at St. Vincent Hospital in the same building as his father—an uncommon beginning that always seemed to reflect the quiet continuity of family and faith that shaped his life.
From his earliest years, Chuck’s path was marked by steady purpose and a deep respect for learning. He attended Little Flower Catholic grade school and Brebeuf High School, building a strong foundation that carried him into higher education with focus and determination. He graduated from the University of Illinois with dual majors in Biology and Biochemistry, and was a member of the Alpha Chi Sigma Professional Chemistry fraternity. He later earned a master’s degree in Library Sciences from the University of Wisconsin, a fitting continuation of a life guided by discipline, curiosity, and careful thought.
Chuck devoted the greater part of his professional career to Eli Lilly, where he worked for 23 years before retiring. He then continued his work for an additional year with Boehringer Ingelheim.
His commitment extended beyond his own career. Chuck held various positions for Alpha Chi Sigma, offering his time and guidance in support of the organization that had been part of his own academic journey. He served as Vice President of the Alpha Chi Sigma Educational Foundation.
Beyond his many professional and academic accomplishments, Chuck's greatest joy was his family and friends. He treasured time spent with those he loved and made it a priority to be present for life's milestones, never missing a family celebration.
Chuck also possessed an adventurous spirit and a deep curiosity about the world. He loved to travel and embraced opportunities to experience different cultures, people, and places. His journeys took him to every continent, creating memories and friendships that enriched his life and broadened his perspective.
Chuck is survived by his father, John J. Carroll; his mother, Karen S. Carroll; his sister, Sara Carroll; and his brother, David Carroll (Dannielle), as well as many nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Leppert Mortuary - Nora, 740 East 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240, on October 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
