Diane Lynn McGuire, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on August 25, 1953, to the late Joseph and Betty Danowski. Diane was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Diane was born and raised in South Bend, where she graduated from St. Joseph High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University. Her career as a graphic artist included work with ICP, the Gibson Group, and Bosma Enterprises. She retired in 2019. Diane also shared her artistic talents with St. Augustine Home for the Aged through her volunteer work with the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Family was always at the center of Diane’s life. She is survived by her daughter, Erin Lee (Eric), and her sons, Shawn McGuire and Patrick McGuire (Sara). She is also survived by her partner, Peter Finney. Diane was a proud step-grandmother to Lukas Evan and Ann Evan, and a step-great-grandmother to Bradford Garrett. Her former husband, Michael McGuire, also remains among her family.
Diane was an accomplished artist who loved supporting the visual arts, theater, and music communities of Indianapolis. She was passionate about sharing her experiences and creativity with others and served as an inspiration to countless artists. Her community involvement included volunteering at Theatre on the Square and with the Little Sisters of the Poor, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Diane rarely missed an opportunity to gather with friends for dinner, a concert, or a play. She loved to travel and experience different cultures and especially cherished her visits to the Pacific Northwest.
A visitation will be held on October 31, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary Nora Chapel, located at 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the same location.
